Wedowee Marine Renews Sponsorship with Alabama Bass Trail

Decatur, Ala. (August 26, 2020) – Wedowee Marine, an Alabama-based boat dealer, is returning for the fifth consecutive year to be a presenting sponsor of the Alabama Bass Trail (ABT). As part of the sponsorship, the company will offer a bonus plan to the highest finishing boat purchased from Wedowee Marine at each tournament during the 2021 ABT Tournament Series.

“Wedowee Marine Inc. is excited to continue our association with the ABT for the 2021 season,” said General Manager Eric Morris. “We have enjoyed the relationships we have built with the anglers and look forward to establishing many more in the coming years. We are bass anglers working for bass anglers, and not many people understand what that means. We want our customers who purchase from us to receive the best service so they can worry more about fishing, winning tournaments and cashing checks and less about how long it will take to service their boat.”

Under the terms of the agreement, Wedowee Marine will award bonus money to the highest finishing boat purchased from Wedowee Marine (with Wedowee marine approved logos on jersey and boat) at each tournament during the 2021 ABT Tournament Series. ABT will feature Wedowee Marine on all tournament related advertising, website, social media channels, and collateral materials.

Wedowee Marine, servicing the Alabama and Georgia markets, carries a complete line of G3 pontoon boats, Phoenix, Vexus and Bullet bass boats, NauticStar, Tige and ATX wakeboats and Yamaha and Monterey bow riders and Yamaha waverunners. The company has three locations to meet the public’s boating needs and has grown to be one of the largest marinas in the state of Alabama. For more information, visit

“I can’t say enough about Eric and the entire staff at Wedowee Marine. While their sponsorship allows us to continue to run the largest tournament trail in the Southeast, it’s the service to the anglers following a purchase that have them standing out from the crowd. Wedowee Marine provides a level of customer service that is absolutely second to none. It is humbling to have them renew their sponsorship for the fifth consecutive year,” said ABT Program Director Kay Donaldson.

The 2021 Alabama Bass Trail Tournament Series will be held on eleven of the lakes of the Alabama Bass Trail beginning February 20, 2021, with the championship tournament to be held on October 22-23, 2021, on Lewis Smith Lake. Sanctioned by BASS (Bass Anglers Sportsman Society), the ABT Tournament Series contains two divisions, North and South, and each division is made up of five tournaments on five different lakes. The maximum number of boats for each tournament is 225. The no-entry fee championship event will include up to 185 boats. The 185 boats are comprised of the 10 regular season winners, top 75 teams in points from both divisions that fished all five events in their respective divisions, along with the top 15 student teams, top five college teams and the top five couples teams collectively from both divisions that fished all five events in their respective division.

Each regular season tournament features a $10,000 guaranteed first place prize and pays 40 places totaling over $47,000. The no-entry fee championship will feature a $100,000 payout with a first place prize of $50,000. There is also a $5,000 bonus cash prize for Angler of the Year and $2,500 for runner-up Angler of the Year. According to Donaldson, over $580,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded when the ABT Tournament Series wraps up its season in 2021.
