Went out on Veterans day with friends. The bite was slow but had good action before the front came through. They were active in the mats. Had a lot of fish just nosing our frogs… Very frustrating! Ended up catching 2 fish around 4 lbs out of the grass. Caught a good one on a zara spook on the edge of the grass. At the end of the day this big girl came on a jerkbait. Slow and steady is the name of the game. We also just had a couple inches of rain dump into the lake coupled with frigid temperatures. The water temperature has fallen into the low 50s. The colder weather has the bass fired up at different times of the day trying to feed up before winter. However it is all about location location location and timing. Just keep with it, don’t give up, and you should have a successful trip! Lures to throw right now are a Rapala Shad rap, Alabama Rigs, Single Swimbaits, and Rapala Jerkbait: Xrap 8′ and 10′.The lake is gorgeous right now with fall colors. Get out there and see!
