Fishing Report Guntersville Lake 5/15/15

May 17, 2015

The fish are still running in schools and some days we are seeing a lot of schooling action. They will knock 5″ to 6″ long Shad out of the water and you will see as many as 15 to 20 fish in the schools. The past few days we caught 50 or more each day and if we get around the schools of big fish we will hit 25 lb or better in a matter of minutes.

C-rigs, jigs, crankbaits and swimbaits along with spoons are all working well.  The depths vary from day to day. One day they are in 10 to 12 feet and the next day they are in 18 to 20 feet.

I am booked for the rest of May, and now booking days into June. Looking ahead to the June bite activity. I anticipate the ledge bite will continue to produce like now. If the shad really come up the bite could move around the grass. This will make for some fun top water action and the jig will be a solid producer flipping the holes and pockets. Hooking an 8 pounder in that deep grass makes for some fun fishing.

Call me and lets get your June trip booked. If it continues like March, April and May the Big-G is pulling the bass lovers from all over the country. It has been extremely busy this year. Guntersville continues to produce. It is awesome. Lets go fishin……
